Team Project 2
Interaction Design
Due Saturday May 23 before 11:30pm

Overview

For this second phase, your team will specify the interaction design, represented as wireframes and scenarios for a call to action you identified in the second project.

Assignment Requirements

At minimum, the project should present wireframes and scenarios that represent tasks that address the call to action. The number of wireframes may range from a few frames to a dozen.

Report Contents

Your submitted report should contain the following sections:

  • Executive summary. Develop a one to two paragraph statement that summarizes your interaction design and your process for developing it.
  • Process overview. Summarize your design process including any activities you used to develop, select and refine your proposed design.
  • Wireframes and scenarios. Present your wireframes and use scenarios to explain how the interaction works. These scenarios will form the basis of your usability evaluation that you perform in the next project (project 3).
  • Appendix materials. Appendix includes process details including individually developed wireframes. Also include how individuals contributed to the project.

Team Process

The following is a recommended set of team phases and deadlines:

  • Conceptual story for call to action (Tuesday May 5). The team identifies the call to action and identifies a conceptual story that addresses it. The story should be phrased from the perspective of one or two personas.

  • Individual Review and Contribution (Monday May 11). Individuals each work out a preliminary wireframe solution from the conceptual story.

  • Design selection and consolidation. (Tuesday May 12). Team members review individual wireframes and select or consolidate into one design.
  • Integration (Tuesday May 19). The selected wireframes are revised and finalized with accompanying scenarios. Use case descriptions are written.
  • Finalize (Saturday May 23). Write executive summary. Edit and proofread. Submit!

Submission

Submit your report to D2L as a PDF document.

Grading

This project is worth 10% of the course grade. The following criteria will be used for scoring the report:

  • Report organization and presentation. The report is well written and organized so that it is easy to find required information.
  • Report completeness. The report has all required contents. The wireframes and scenarios fully indicate how a user would interact with the design to complete targeted tasks.
  • Process. The report shows that the proper process is followed and was based on outcomes from the first two projects.
  • Supported design. The wireframes are clearly documented with the scenarios. The process explains how the scenarios were developed from the previous project.
