Overview
The final project involves submitting a report summarizing your project. It includes the presentation during finals week.
Requirements
- The report addresses the required content
- Presentation (5-10 minutes) during finals week
The required content of the report may be addressed with the following sections:
- Abstract: an overall summary of the accomplishment, results and intepretaions
- Introduction: motivation of the project with overview of the report
- Background concepts: explanations of the concepts used for the project
- Methodology: the procedure of what you did with enough detail to reproduce similar results
- Results: summarized outcomes with comparisons
- Discussion with limitations: explaining the results in terms of the concepts; summary of what was learned
Submission
Submit a pdf file of your proposal. A typical report will be 2 to 4 pages in length, not including appendices and other supplemental materials.
Grading
This proposal is worth 40 points. Assessment will be based on the following criteria (8 points each):
- Presentation: the report is well organized, written, and formatted.
- Background concepts: supporting concepts are well explained.
- Specificity: the report explains the approach taken so that it could be reproduced in obtaining similar results.
- Quality of interpretation: the results are discussed, placed in context with limitations. Limitations may be discussed as future work.
- Completeness: all requirements are addressed.
